A Nod is a parent's approval. When "Awaiting Nod" is on, the child marks a task done, but it won't count until a parent taps the checkmark. Great for tasks that need verification.
Your streak counts how many days in a row you've earned coins. Complete at least one task each day to keep it alive! Parents can also set a Streak Bonus - extra coins awarded when kids hit their goal.
Recurring chores only show up on the day they are scheduled, so there is no confusion about what needs to be done that day and when.

An optional advanced feature that lets parents map coins to a real money value (for example, 1 coin = 25¢) with your local currency symbol. When turned on, balances and reward costs show both the coin count and the cash equivalent, making it easy to bridge to a real allowance. Toggle it on in Admin Panel → Settings → Coin Converter.
Yes. Connect your Google account in Admin Panel → Calendar to import family events, mark holidays, and schedule recurring chores. You can also export an iCal feed to sync into Apple Calendar or any other calendar app.
Going on holiday or sick for a few days? Set a Streak Pause date range in Admin Panel → Settings → Streaks. Missed days inside the pause window won't reset your kids' streaks, so a beach week doesn't undo a month of effort.
We send a Sunday-evening Weekly Recap, an optional Daily Reminder at the time you choose, an evening nudge if there are still chores waiting on a Nod, and alerts when a child requests a reward or earns a streak bonus. Toggle each one in Admin Panel → Notifications. iPhone users need to add Chore Bytes to the Home Screen first, then enable notifications from inside the app.
Yes. Kids can add a reward to their wishlist from the Rewards page. The request shows up in your Admin Panel so you can approve it (with whatever coin cost you decide) or politely decline it.
Generate a single-use invite code in Admin Panel → Family. The code looks like BYTE-XXXXXX. Enter it on the new device and your child's profile, history, and balance follow them across — no email or login needed for the child.
Yes. Admin Panel → Weekly Reports keeps a running history of every week's chores, coins earned, and savings. Download any week as a CSV to share with a co-parent, paste into a spreadsheet, or print for the fridge.
Most of the app works offline once it has loaded — kids can still see today's chores and check them off. Changes sync back automatically the next time the device is online.
