Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Chore Bytes ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of a family, you represent that you are the parent or legal guardian and accept these terms on behalf of your household.

2. Description of Service

Chore Bytes is a family chore tracking application that helps families manage household tasks, track rewards, and build positive habits. The Service is available as a progressive web app (PWA) and may be available through mobile app stores.

3. Accounts & Registration

• Parent/guardian accounts are created via Google or Apple sign-in.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and admin passcode.
• Child profiles are created and managed by the parent/guardian account holder.
• Children access the Service through invite codes generated by their parent/guardian - they do not create independent accounts.
• You must be at least 18 years old to create a parent/guardian account.

4. Pricing & Payment

Chore Bytes offers a free trial period. After the trial, choose the access model that fits your household:

• Family Plan - $14.99 (one-time)
• Family+ Plan - $19.99 (one-time, includes additional features)

Both plans are one-time lifetime purchases and do not require a subscription. Web payments are processed through Stripe; purchases made in a mobile app are processed by the applicable app store. Prices are subject to change.

5. Refund Policy

Lifetime purchases are reviewed case-by-case within 30 days of the charge. To request a web refund, contact us at support@chorebytes.com. For purchases made through app stores, request refunds through the applicable store; that store's refund policies apply.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose, attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data, or share invite codes publicly or use them to grant access to unauthorized individuals.

7. No Reverse Engineering or Automated Probing

You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code, internal logic, or trade secrets of any part of the Service. You may not use automated tools, bots, scrapers, or AI systems to probe, extract, train on, or reconstruct any part of the Service. Violation of this Section is a material breach of these Terms.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and branding of Chore Bytes are the property of Creative Space Arts, LLC. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission. Your household data (chores, rewards, profiles) belongs to you.

9. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from within the app (Admin Panel > Account Options > Delete My Account). Deleting your account will permanently remove all data associated with your household. This action cannot be undone.

10. Service Availability

We strive to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance or circumstances beyond our control.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. Your use of the Service is at your own risk.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Creative Space Arts, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
